Hearts is a trick-taking card game for 4 players. The goal of the game is to score the fewest points. Hearts are worth 1 point each, and the Queen of Spades is worth 13 points.
The game is played with a standard 52-card deck, with the 2 of Clubs removed. The cards are shuffled and dealt 13 cards to each player.
The player to the left of the dealer leads the first trick. Play then proceeds clockwise. Players must follow suit if they can. If they cannot follow suit, they can play any card.
The highest card of the led suit wins the trick. The winner of the trick leads the next trick.
Hearts and the Queen of Spades cannot be led on the first trick. However, they can be played if another suit is led.
At the end of the hand, points are scored for each heart and the Queen of Spades that a player has taken. The player with the fewest points wins the hand.
