RCB changed their team name from "Bangalore" to "Bengaluru.
The announcement was made during the franchise's UNBOX event on Tuesday, March 19th. Originally called Royal Challengers Bangalore since the IPL's start in 2008, the team will now be known as Royal Challengers Bengaluru.
Before the event, the franchise teased a name change on social media. Local fans had long pushed for 'Bengaluru' to be included, especially since the city officially adopted the name on November 1, 2014.
