Nitish Kumar Reddy, the 20-year-old cricketer, is making waves after scoring his first T20 fifty in just his fourth match for Sunrisers Hyderabad. The Andhra batsman struck a brilliant 64 off 37 balls, hitting five sixes against Punjab Kings on Tuesday.
Nitish has represented Andhra in domestic cricket and had played just eight T20 matches before Tuesday, including two IPL games in 2023 where he didn't bat.
Nitish was purchased by SRH at his base price of Rs 20 lakh in the IPL 2023 auction. According to ESPNcricinfo, he scored 366 runs in seven Ranji Trophy matches for Andhra, including a century and a fifty.
It remains to be seen if Nitish can sustain his record-breaking performance in the upcoming matches of IPL 2024.
